The University of Iowa carried out a review of more than 600 smoking cessation. Altogether 72,000 people were studied. The Journal of Applied Psychology, reported that hypnosis was “many times more effective than *Nicotine Replacement Therapy” to help you stop smoking. *such as gum, patches, lozenges, nasal sprays and inhalers.

Quite smoking with hypnosis – success rates

There is an 85% success rate after one session of hypnosis, according to the review. Other “first attempt” success rates are much lower. Acupuncture has a 25% success rate after 1 session. Nicotine gum (which has side effects) scores only 11%. Nicotine patches (also with side effects) doesn’t do much better, with 13%. On average, those wanting to quit smoking made an average of six attempts with Nicotine Replacement Therapy before they were able to stop.
